Night VFR Overview

Experiencing nighttime flights is an awe-inspiring event that every pilot should encounter during their aviation career. Enhancing your flying abilities and expanding your flight planning options, obtaining a Night Rating for your Private Pilot License or Commercial License is a valuable addition.

In Australia, pilots without an instrument rating are restricted to daytime flying only. However, by obtaining a Night VFR rating, you can eliminate this limitation and safely fly at night in Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC). It serves as an excellent foundation for pilots considering pursuing an Instrument Rating, as the hours logged under Night VFR will count towards the Instrument Rating. Even pilots with an existing Instrument Rating can benefit from holding a Night VFR rating.

With the Flight Tech Night VFR rating, you will have ample flying time to develop your skills and gain confidence in nighttime flying. Our carefully designed syllabus offers flexibility, allowing you to complete the rating at your preferred pace.

Our Night VFR Rating is conducted at Archerfield Airport with brand new, state of the art LED lighting and PAPI lights you are sure to enjoy every minute.  We use our Aeroprakt A32 Vixxen with a modern glass cockpit aircraft with state of the art avionics with excellent lighting.  This option enables excellent value so you can achieve the rating at an excellent overall cost.
